How do I buy wholesale/bulk without the middlemen?

I want to cut out the middelman and buy in bulk/wholesale. How can I do this? hottotrot1_usa: I'd like to buy items in bulk for a business, and most of the sites that sell wholesale do not have good prices.

2. I recommend checking out alibaba.com this site contains manufacturuers that are looking for distributers etc. I have used the site and most of the businesses are legit Good Luck
3. It depends what you want to buy, and in what volume. I agree with the idea of Sams Club, Costco, etc. if you are talking about items for your personal use. If you are talking about a business buying for resale, that's a different store. What exactly do you want to buy?
4. You should check with your state (assuming your in the US) about obtaining a resale or wholesale license. In my state you need a special license to purchase from wholesalers without paying sales tax. You then collect any sales tax owed when you resell the item. You'll need to show your license to the wholesaler so they don't charge you. In order to obtain better pricing from the vendor chances are you'll need to buy larger quantities directly from a distributor/wholesaler. Check the laws in your area and see if it's OK to create a purchasing cooperative. In some cases it's possible to pool purchases with several retailers so that all of you can take advantage of quantity discounts, but there are some legal issues that you should discuss with an attorney.
